Spotlight on Maia!

MaiaMaia is only a year old. The first 6 months of her life were not good ones :( She was born in a feral colony and lived for about 2-3 months by herself. Luckily, someone was able to take her off the streets, but gave her to someone without the means to teach or care for her. These months were crucial for her. She needed to learn the rules so to speak – to be trained and led by an experienced person so as she grew up, she would be a model citizen. This did not happen and she remained mostly in a crate for months. A vet’s office took her in, but gave up on her – they were going to put her into a shelter…

Fast forward – Tuff Tails gets a call and steps in! Maia was now about 6 months old but was more like a tiny pup. She was on the shy side and thought she had to protect her food in order to survive. This was so sad and we promised to teach her and not give up on her like so many did in her past. It has been a bit of a road, but she is learning to be part of a pack and respect boundaries! She still needs an experienced person(s) to continue her training, but she really has made a ton of progress! Maia is housebroken, spayed and up to date with vaccines. She would probably do best in an adult home but this all depends on your experience. Oh and a plus is she loves to play with other dogs. She is so tiny too – only about 30 lbs.! Please contact us to find out more and to meet this little fluffball :)
